J. J. Abram's Star Trek
i'm surprised no one has started a thread about this movie. i searched, but nothing came up. this should probably go in the sci-fi section, but i'm choosing to start it here.
anyway...
saw the film today. i absolutely loved it! the character interactions were witty and the chemistry among them was undeniable. the slew of actors casted for the parts seemed perfect (though i really have no basis of judgment other than what i just saw). i enjoyed the brief childhood insights of a couple of the characters.
the movie moved at just the right pace, revealing and unfolding events, seamlessly layering and transitioning them on top of the other. i can't recall a dull moment. the dialogue was great. the whole thing was written extremely well.
i highly recommend this film. its one of those silver screen attempts that anyone can joy, both star trek and non star trek fans alike. i'm anything but a star trek fan. i only hope the other films are as well executed as this one.
side note: i find zachary quinto's take on spock strangely alluring. its not really the pointy ears or the good looks behind the aesthetics and makeup. it's spock's abnormally high IQ. i do love my nerds. so hot.
