Watched a couple of trailers about this movie, looks pretty good.
Going by the title I presume it has something to do with the super 8 video the train crash was filmed with. Either that or yet another "Alien attack" type film.
Supposed to be released in June, suprised it hasn´t got a thread yet.
Super 8 is a pretty enjoyable movie experience and the young characters at its center are pretty entertaining. The story is nothing new or revolutionary, but the element of nostalgia is a favorable one. Super 8 is not the sci-fi monster movie that some people may be expecting. There is indeed a strange creature terrorizing the kids’ town, but this plot thread is mostly used for narrative drive, and the creature itself is seldom shown in the film..
Saw this today. I like the fact that it‘s much in the vein of ET, The Goonies and other old coming of age adventure movies but a fair bit darker with more violence. I really liked it though. I think it‘s a brave thing to make a movie like this cos while its obviously a film aimed at kids the ages of the main characters it gambles on the hope that they will have seen and enjoyed the films people my age enjoyed when we were young. I don't think they've advertised it enough as a film that will take adults back to the films of their youth. Overall I liked it though even if the end seemed to just happen out of nowhere.
