Cat In The Hat
The classic kids book turned movie, staring that lovable 6 foot feline the Cat in the Hat, who leads two bored and homebound children through a day of adventure, in the film of the same name... well... falls flat.
I'm the first to appreciate the working in of some adult humor into childrens movies to make them more bearable for the adult viewer, but the level to which this film stooped caused even me to wince. It was the first film in my life where I observed people walk out in droves, and the first time I ever felt like joining them.
Without spoiling any of the dialogue, or recapping the so called plot, I will simply say that a movie that is so obviously marketed to kids should not have the main character spelling out S H I T while winking at the camera. Sure, a 3 yr old wouldnt get it. But the 12 yr old beside me did, and seemed delighted to have heard the Cat all but say it.
It's a mostly unfunny, tedious, and vulgar film, who's only redeeming point was that they waited till the good Dr. was dead before they filmed it.

I could have made a better movie with sock puppets and oil paint.

the movie completely and utterly destroyed the wholesome book. The Cat was saying so many innuendos for "things" that I could not stand it! A little girl beside me didn't understand half the things the Cat was saying! SICK! Plus, Mike Myers was tha Cat, so you know he had to put "things" in it to ruin it, and I also know that with the Grinch, Mrs. Suess had a lot of input in the movie, but in this one, she had absolutley no input. I bet she was suprised when she heard they were going to make the movie! How terrible is it that they had to ruin a PERFECTLY GOOD children's book with language and double innuendos. It literaly made me sick. For another thing, the movie lacked a plot, a story line, everything. It was just like they filmed all the immature scenes and jumbled them together unorderly. I would have to say my least favourite scene is when the Cat is dancing in the Club. Sick! With all those "revealing" people? What a horrible way to ruin a literary classic! Way to go, Mike Myers! Go back to Austin Powers, it fits you way better.

It looks dreadful. I haven't seen it, and don't think I'll bother.
I didn't mind 'The Grinch', but I'm not really a fan of Mike Myers. I hate it when children's movies are twisted and polluted into innuendo.
