Ladder 49

I cant give it anything less than the highest rating it can be given. It's truly one of the best movie's ive ever seen. I havent ever cried during a movie as much as I have while watching this one. I just got back from the theater too..makeup is all smeared. If you havent seen this movie, truly, see it. Im going back next week to see it again, and Im sure Ill cry all over again. Im not a big fan of those 'heroic' or 'firefighting' movies but that all changed now.

Thankyou! i was begining to wonder how no one else noticed this was blatantly a poor backdraft copy.. its an average movie at best

Well it isnt a remake of another movie, thats what vibe im getting from everyone. Its based heavily on a true story.

Actually according to several firefighters interviewed they said they preferred Ladder 49 to Backdraft because it gave a more realistic view of the life of a firefighter. Now I loved Backdraft and went to Ladder 49 thinking BD couldnt be topped. I was wrong. Ladder 49 was excellent.

I totally agree with you, ladder 49 was great. its ridiculous that everyone keeps comparing it to backdraft, the only thing similar is that there are firefighters. goodfellas is not the sequel to the godfather, so just cause a movie has a similar central theme doesn't mean they are anything alike.

i'm ranting, this movie was excellent and joaquin came through with another great performance

I love stupid opinions. Just because it may not appeal to your taste as in a preview doesnt mean it isnt good, and plus look at all these great reviews and opinions..I seriously think people are are dumb for giving out such crap.
Not every movie that doesnt look good is crap..

It is, A dissapointment. And most people who loved this movie are those teenage girls who loves,"Win A Date With Tad Hamilton" or Kid Rock.

If anyone wants to see a good drama with firefighters just turn on your television turn it to FX and watch Rescue Me.

Not every movie that doesnt look good is crap..

But about 99.9% of movies that do look like crap turn out to be crap.
