So palpatine gets Anakin on the council! And it looks like Padme does indeed die before Obie-Wan and Bail.

Do u mean that he is a part of the council? If that's what u mean then where have u learned it. It doesn't say anything like that on those cards.

He became his mentor between episode 1 and 2.

I've discussed this before, but I wanna show you guys something anyway. I know Lucas borrows from a lot of sources, but why does anakin have that kind of hair? well, in the old testament, Lucifer was God's most beautiful and greatest creation before he rebelled and was banished to the pit as a horrifying demon. Here is William Blake's painting of Lucifer before his fall. Note any similarities?
