Question...
I've been wondering this. If Shmi were still alive during ANH, would she have told Luke about his father after Obi-Wan told her? Or would she hide it like Owen?

you'll never get a definitive answer of it of course.... but if she survived he wouldn't have gone dark in AOTC and perhaps not even in ROTS

The turn was inevitable, with or without shmi. He still had the fleeting impression that Obi-Wan held him back. But then...if Shmi was still alive, would ben be stupid enough to leave Luke with her? I'd say the first place they would check is with his mother....but if the stormtroopers killed her.....then he would kill the stormtroopers....ugh...Too much thinking.

perhaps, but you can't know for sure ... her death was the mainreason to go dark in AOTC and if that didn't happen his frustration would still be just what it was: a frustration, nothing that big

True, oh well. Atleast we still have the freedom to discuss the possibilities of what might have been. Like I think what it would be like if Anakin never went into the suit, and he and luke dueled on the Death Star. I always like to imagine that fight in my head.
