It’s basically more instrumental, ambient music.

Although I don't agree with the genre label, I'll ignore it for ease's sake.
Godspeed for me, no contest.

Mogwai.
I dont know if I would class Four Tet as post rock, its more focused on electronics and breakbeats.

I like all the bands in that list except Explosions, and Do Make Say Think(hardly heard anything from the band).
The one I listen to most though is Sigur Ros, absolutely adore the band.

Godspeed, and agreed with everyone who said this particular label is stupid.

I chose not to comment directly because I had the whole debate in another 'post-rock' thread.

Wiki says:
Post rock - using rock instrumentation for non-rock purposes; using guitars as facilitators of timbres and textures rather than riffs and power chords.
It is kind of a strange name, though, since rock is not dead and this style of music does not replace it. it’s just a different style of rock, but whatever. Call it what you will, it’s still characterized by emphasis on instrumental elements.

Why can't it just be called instrumental music?

I think of it as instrumental rock. I don't feel the need to analyse it beyond that, and even then, I don't feel all these bands necessarily fit together.

That's just rock.
"Post rock"?
In fact I'd say it was more progressive rock, to take instruments and use them as "facilitators" for new music.
Blah, I hate labels.
