Who was more essential to Luke's training?

In the Original trilogy Young Luke is instructed by two of the most Famous Jedi in the Order's history. Yet if you had to choose between Ben Kenobi and Yoda, who taught Luke the most pivotal lessons and who was more essential to him becoming the Jedi he would be? Was it his first kinship with Kenobi and his relationship with his father, or was it his experiences with Yoda, his training on Dagobah, and his more expanded teachings in the force? How would Luke have turned out if he was training by one instead of the other

As it pertains to the EU, who do you think Luke regarded with more respect, love, and admiration as he grew older and created his own order?

I think Obi-Wan had more to do with setting him on the right path mentally, while Yoda helped his skills more.

However, I'll toss in a third: Vader. Luke's best model for lightsaber fighting was him, the first human-sized person he saw- and experienced- in action. He also was used as an example of what-not-to-do.

Vader was, ironically, very vital to Luke's training.

If it hadn't been for Obi-Wan, he would've never started on the path to begin with. Yoda was the one who expanded upon that, but Obi-Wan was his central and primal teacher.

And agreed with the post above. Vader had a hand in training Luke as well, albeit indirectly.

Darth Thor is online now!

Well the Star Wars comics are showing how he's been trained from all sorts of sources. But it was Ben who put that determination in him to find out and learn more.

I don't think you can weigh his training. Both Yoda and Obi-Wan helped him in ways that are equally important.
