The Emperor mentioned it at the end of the episode.

I think "weakened" might be overstating it though. He did decisively batter Kenobi when Kenobi was back to his ROTS level. Even is he wasn't quite as good in Sabers.

Vader's hatred for Kenobi did leave him unbalanced and reckless (which is partly why he lost in both ROTS and OWK). Sidious noted said recklessness in that recent comic issue.

Vader basically went full-Maul and let his hate get the better of him against Kenobi

^ Agreed. Having said that I'm not sure if peak Vader at that point would have been > Amped Kenobi at the end of that series. Kenobi at least seemed > Sabers (even before his amp).

Personally I think awakened!OWK Kenobi would have just been above Vader regardless at that point. But Vader's hate-fueled recklessness certainly didn't help his cause.

Does it really matter?

Kenobi went god-mode and became (almost) as powerful as noob Rey. Create all the excuses you want, but Kenobi treated Vader like a toddler at the end. It was a complete stomp.

Yeah it tends to happen in canon, even blind Kanan could treat Maul like fodder when he got his god mode boost.

Probably not the best comparison tbh. Kanan didn't disarm or cut Maul, merely defended against his blows for 3 seconds before pushing him off a cliff ledge.

Also Kenobi's boost seemed more permanent, given how he dealt with Maul a few years later.

Wtf. Vader wasn't blinded by hate. When he was overhelmed in sabers, he retreated, countered Kenobis TK attack and then charged at him, supporting himself with his superior TK. No idea how he was blinded.

After Kenobi returned to fight, he charged at Vader once again with his superior bladework. But this time he was more careful and used the Force on a greater scale when he was sure that Vader is off-guarded.

Dooku had to deal with that Kenobis Ataru, while fighting another, possibly the perfect Djem So user. And wasn't that overhelmed, even in 1vs2. Good thing for Vader that he's a beast on TK, coz he's medicore in swordsmanship and would be stomped by either Windu or Dooku, forget about Yoda or Sidious.

Years ago it was considered that lower quality of CGI was a reason of it. But no, Vader is interior to Kenobi's Ataru in 2022.

No he returned to the fight massively more powerful.

Massively more focused. That was the difference. Vader was still far more powerful. But please, rewatch. Both times, at first and seconda part od that fight, Kenobi had the upper hand with sabers. But when he tried to attack Vader with his TK, Vader was already on guard. Second time he overhelmed Vader so hard, that he had to use TK block to defend himself. And Kenobi Force pushed Vader cwhen he was clearly off guard, as he barely was able to keep up im saber fight. THEN, Kenobi used his TK again, yer this time, when rocks where thrown at him, he was just getting up from his knees. Otherwise he would stop and reflect it.

Kenobi did something, that Dooku or Maul did against him years ago. He was always either focused or something else ( like ship crush or being forced to split his atention between two brothers on Maul's case, or being overhelmed in sabers like against Dooku, twice). Same case was with Krwią. She was able to stomp Sion with her TK, and while Nihilus was indeed powerful, he would not be able to Force push her son hard if her attention would not be split against him and Sion.

Of course he was more focused. Where else would enhanced power in the Force come from? Im not suggesting his midi-chlorian count suddenly increased. Or his Knowledge of the Force.

But the idea that he only got overpowered the first time because he was caught off guard is as poor of an excuse as those who used to say that was the only reason Dooku overpowered Kenobi in ROTS.

After focusing on Leia he came back more powerful in the force. It’s as simple as that. Hence why he was able to break out of being buried in rubble whilst before that moment he was essentially stuck there.
