Neiji is not fast enough to get past his barrier. Gaara would win whether it's Shippuden or not. He was thrashing Deidara who had to resort to cheap tricks to win.

He wouldn't even get past his sand shield, that's what I'm saying. Neiji is nowhere near fast enough, and Gaara would be crushing him with constant sand attacks.

that was with the weights off neiji was still faster than him ONLY unlocking the gates would neiji NOT have a chance sooo with that said he can get by and neiji is a genius so he would figure out a way im sure he was more than 3 techs soooo thats all i say cause neiji is the shit i mean come on

neiji is faster than weightless lee. hes only slower than a 3 gates lee. initially, neiji wud have won. but after time skip, gaara was creating shields large and powerful enough to completely contain city destroying explosions of diedara and sand constructs as big as the hidden sand village itself. i dunno, we havent seen much of neiji's post time skip powers.
Neiji is NOT faster than weightless Lee, no evidence even hints at that, I dare you to prove it. Before time skip Neiji would have been dead as well, Gaara survived Hidden Lotus, who else can say that? After time skip, Gaara definately wins.

Actually, I think Leon has a point. Keep in mind that Neji and Lee fought a lot and presumably, Lee fought without weights on (making him faster). And even then, Neji easily won. So, while it's more speculation than anything, Neji HAS bested Lee without his weights on (This is more evident,when he looked nonchalant, even when Lee took his weights off against Gaara), therefore he can at least fight against that level of speed.. or is on it.

Neji a genius? That's cool. Gaara is a mass murderer who is at the S rank level and is now Kazekage.
