Brotherhood was better.

Although the first did give us a lot more Maes and more emotional investment in the characters.

I don't see Fist of the north star there mad

I disagree, it didn't deliver the same emotional impact--or rather the original manga didn't. I never finished Brotherhood.

I'm secure enough about my own sexuality to dismiss shirtless overly muscular characters with a poorly defined persona. Thank you very much.

It does start out weaker, but it is pretty epic.

At the same time, the character stuff was better and I agree gave more emotional impact. Lust, Sloth, and so on was great.

Both're, IMO, great, but in different ways.

This is just me and my narrow minded knowledge of anime. In no order whatsoever, here goes:

1. Samurai Champloo
2. Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagan
3. Vampire Hunter D.(Bloodlust)
4. Code Geass
5. Ninja Scroll
6. Cowboy Bebop
7. Claymore
8. Hellsing(OVA)
9. Fullmetal Alchemist(either one)
10. Death Note

Narrow I know but maybe I'll discover some other great animes sooner or later.

Doesn't that kind of violate the initial premise of the thread (that manga versions should be entirely ignored)?
