A rather odd topic perhaps but interesting nonetheless.
Make a list of Pokémon you think you would have if you lived in the Pokémon world. Attempt to mix your team with Pokémon you like, with Pokémon reflecting your personality.
To make it more interesting the choices will be restricted by a set of rules. Which goes as follows:
You can't have more than six Pokémon.
The total added value of your team (see system bellow) can't surpass 14 points.
No legendaries (see list bellow).
The value system
It's a system invented to prevent you from overpowering your team and it goes as follows.
Pokémon with 3 staged evolution costs as follows: 1st stage = 1 point, 2nd stage = 2 points, 3rd stage = 3 points.
Pokémon with a two staged evolution costs as follows: 1st stage = 1 point, 2nd stage = 2 points.
Pokémon that don't evolve costs as follows: 1st stage = 2 points.
The legendary Pokémon are as follows (you're not allowed to have these in your party):

Other than that enjoy!

Well considering how the vast majority of the players online use über teams (parties consisting mainly--if not only--of legendaries) it's kind of boring. You'll come across some twelve year old player with Arceus, only to one-shot it with a Machamp.
For instance, a team of four average Pokémon take out Arceus, Latias, Dialga and Heatran with moderate ease.
It's cost is 15 points, like the rest of the legendaries so you may not.
Good idea, each team might have one shiny Pokémon. I'll pick my Milotic.
I was mainly referring to the battle and not so much the commentary. But you're right there will always be adults that will be displeased by the younger generations, regardless of subject.
More commonly known as the grumpy old bastards sitting at a lawn or in a balcony attempting to spoil your childhood.
