Buu's composition?

Was it ever stated in any source what sort of material Bibidi used to fashion Majin Buu from? What exactly IS "Buu-Goo"? How about the rituals involved in Buu's creation, were those ever explained to any extent?

It was recently revealed by Toriyama himself that Bibidi didn't create Buu at all, but rather, summoned him from hibernation:
quote:
How did Bibidi make Majin Buu? What process was there, what were Buu’s ingredients, etc…

Though in the manga Kaioshin said that Bibidi made him, the truth is that one called “Buu” was not actually created by Bididi, but has existed since time immemorial. He cycled between rampages and long hibernation. During numerous iterations of this cycle, he absorbed the evil elements of mankind, becoming steadily more violent. Bibidi merely knew the means of calling Buu from out of his long slumber. Since the current Buu is a slightly different life-form due to the changes brought about when the evil Buu was expelled, it’s not known whether he’ll still go into long hibernation.

Oh crap, he's doing a George Lucas.

Expanding on old content that never needed expanding doesn't make things better, it makes it convoluted.

See, I actually enjoy the added depth--it stops these characters from being so 1-dimensional, imo.

Toriyama did the same type of thing with the Kaioshin(the Kai and Supreme Kai of the universe):
quote:
In the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, coming out in March 2013, a new god, the “God of Destruction”, appears. In this [book], Kaio-sama and Kaioshin-sama are described as “Gods of Creation”, but do they have the power to create things like planets?

Rather than Kaioshin-sama making planets, he is able to provide the impetus for them to be born. Also, he will sometimes divide up one planet and increase the number of planets. He will even do things like create life-forms, or transplant them from another planet, but his basic job is to watch over the numerous planets. Because the number of planets is so very large, the four Kaio-sama help him out as well. They intervene if it appears that the world’s balance will crumble, but normally, they merely act in an advisory role for new life-forms, and don’t get involved. In order to provide a balance to the constantly increasing number of planets, the God of Destruction destroys [them], but he does not act on Kaioshin’s orders; he destroys according to his own individual judgment. Except, he is capricious, so he will destroy even an important world without a second thought, or when he finds it bothersome, let someone else act as an agent of destruction.

Source

Essentially, the Kaioshin help create planets and life, while Beerus destroys planets and life. Balance.

Yeah, but he also added this "godly ki>>>normal ki" dynamic. Kaio-Shin sure didn't have some super god ki that let him wipe the floor with normal ki users. SSJ2 level alone shocked him, and that was weak sauce by the time of the Buu saga.

Meh, 'Godly' ki simply describes a different type of ki than the norm--it certainly doesn't make one Beerus-level by proxy. Heck, even Kami possessed Godly ki, and his PL was only in the hundreds.

As it the case with 'normal' ki, however, there are varying levels of Godly ki--and it can also be increased with training.

Ah, but if they had godly ki of any strength, then why was Goku able to sense it? (As it's established only godly ki users can sense godly ki? smile

As Beerus stated: Godly ki is a completely different dimension of power. If a being does not possess that type of ki, they cannot 'tune in' to its specific frequency.

Any instances you're referring to that predate BoG, also predate the existence of formal Godly ki(as it has been defined since BoG, that is.) Hence, said instances wouldn't have taken this 'new-age' Godly ki into consideration.
