Superman could lose. However Storm managed to defeat Nimrod with ice. If Superman takes a lot of heavy hits, he'll use his scannning powers to deduce a weakness to the mechanism. Nimrod's technology is very inferior to the stuff Superman works on his Fortress of Solitude.

Supes could hurt Nimrod pretty bad...but Nimrod is great at recovering. And a little known fact about him is that he instantly adapts - you can use your powers on him for more than a few seconds, because once he processes it, he'll auto-build technology that renders it useless. It's a lot like The Borg, actually.
Superman could win by immediately speedblitzing Nimrod and never letting up, turning him into complete junk. Then Superman had better run before he pulls himself together again.
If Superman does his usual, "Stop, villain! Or I'll do something to you at half power the first several times!" schtick, then he's done for....
