Don't know enough about Sentry...at least I don't, and I'm not sure if anyone does at this point. His appearences have been limited, and are hardly definitive.
Anyway, if the rumors are true, Sentry wins. But it might be interesting..."the power of a million exploding suns" might make Apollo stronger, depending on what exactly Sentry's power is based off of.
C'mon you all knew that this was coming. Two of my favorite heors. Hopefully there'll be a good debate as to which one of these is the superior Superman-type character. Me personally, I'm leaning towards Sentry. Anyway debate!
care to elaborate why sir? Validus do you mean his battery-type solar recharge thing? If so, then yes, if this battle drags out too long Apollo is in a world of hurt. Other then that they seem fairly matched. They're both fast and strong/durable but I think Apollo may be even more cold/blackhearted than Sentry. Whereas Sentry rips bastards in half and tosses them in the sun like they don't matter Apollo just sets f**kers on fire.

Actually, Apollo has quite a few more good showings. Sentry has beaten....a depowered Terrax and Hulk as his best wins? Then stalemated Genis and the Collective? But the hype machine for him won't let anyone say otherwise in this fight, and I don't feel like getting crucified over defending my boy.
Hey Genis was a madman, the guy would whoop Surfer's ass and don't even lie and say he won't. Also the Collective had the powers of 90% of mutants on the planet, thats crazy power and he also killed the majority of Alpha Flight and they were hella strong. So for Sentry to be hurt by any of those guys but still survive and stalemate them says alot.
Death Metal could've killed the majority of Alpha Flight too (he wanted to die so he was holding back and still winning)....so it's not like the AF feat instantly puts Collective at, say, Surfer level.
Also, Genis beating Surfer easily?
Oh, he beat Absorbing Man too. Again, a good feat, but not beyond some of Apollo's better showings as well.
And Black holes don't work in comics like they do for real. Nothing could escape from them (even superheroes) if it were for real. Lots of people have created black holes or survived them....Adam Warlock comes to mind (he survived one unscathed), who is versatile and powerful but not Sentry's physical equal.
