History:The history of the Imposternaut is shrouded in mystery and extremely confusing. The Imposternaut claims to be Cain Marko,the man who became the Juggernaut years ago. But glaring discrepancies in his statements and a distinctly different,almost wholly dissimilar personality from that of Cain Marko put this claim in serious doubt. A few such discrepancies of note include the Imposternaut's claim to have lost the power of the Juggernaut some time ago,which conflicts with the fact that Cain Marko had just been seen as the Juggernaut shortly before the Imposternaut first appeared. Another point of suspicion is that the Imposternaut bizarrely claims that in his life he's only tried to do the right thing and his being labelled a villain is unwarranted. This is totally contradictory to what we know of Cain Marko,who carries no such disillusionment about his life of crime and violence and in fact revels in his villainy. Perhaps the greatest discrepancy of all in the Imposternaut's tale is his superhuman strength and durability despite someone else apparently having become the Juggernaut. Whereas Cain Marko has no superhuman power whatsoever of his own,and if someone else was given the power of the Juggernaut Cain Marko would become nothing more than an ordinary man.

The differences continue down to a behavioral level. Despite claiming to be the Juggernaut,who has committed an extensive list of violent crimes,the Imposternaut is curiously docile,accepts unceasing abuse and redicule from those around him,and is emotionally sensitive to the point of near-constant sobbing. Conversely,Cain Marko is aggressive,prone to physically assaulting those who attempt to denegrate him,and like most adult males is fully capable of dealing with an emotion without uncontrollably bursting into tears. Given this extraordinary difference in personality with no known psychological catalyst to explain such an extreme and sudden shift,the credibility of the Imposternaut's claim that he is Cain Marko is heavily challenged. While no one knows for sure the true origins or identity of the Imposternaut,a burgeoning theory is that the Imposternaut may indeed be Cain Marko,but one from a reality very different from our own. Perhaps brought here by the waves of discontinuity created by Genis Vell's recreation of our universe(see Captain Marvel vol.3 #18,2004).

Strength Level:Variable. The Imposternaut's strength fluctuates sharply between low enough to have difficulty snapping plant vines to Class 100 strength enabling him to lift(press) over 100 tons. At it's highest ebb the Imposternaut's strength is roughly half that of the Juggernaut's.

Known Superhuman Powers:The Imposternaut has superhuman strength and durability. The source of his power is unknown but it appears somehow to be innate. His massive frame is far more resistant to injury than a normal man's,however,his durability is much lower than his strength would suggest. The Imposternaut has withstood the impact of a house collapsing down upon him with no discernable damage done but he can be rendered unconscious by small explosions. Something on the level of a gas main explosion would prove fatal to him.

Weapons and Apparatus:The Imposternaut wears a suit of armor and helmet of unknown origins that resemble the Juggernaut's armor but is instead blue and gold. Unlike the Juggernaut,the Imposternaut cannot summon his armor at will and instead has to put it on manually. While very daunting in appearence this armor offers very little protection of any kind and appears to serve only the purpose of casting an imposing Juggernautlike visage. Unlike the Juggernaut's helmet which blocks psionics,the Imposternaut's helmet appears to have no special attributes whatsoever.
