Ok, just like the Onslaught saga, Onslaught controls NY, 8 MILLION LIFE but this time only two heroes, the biggest Slugging buddies Hulk and Thor. Thor was depowered in that saga, he was the 1st choice to enter berserk mode but could not make that happen. That slot went to the Hulk. Now with their normal powers. How are you gonna get them to defeat Onslaught.
yes that was the 1st part of it. Eventually Onslaught start the real fight! The energy thing.... Depowered Thor slightly Manage. Hulk on his own would get cream in that 2nd round. That is why i put thor in.
Both Thor and Hulk have the capabilities to break Onslaught armor. Mjolnir could hold onto Onslaught Energy form. with Hulk, a non-mutant the odds are against Onslaught.

WMT and Savage Hulk at "peak" against an Onslaught that goes toe to toe without using his reality altering powers, his tk, or tp... well damn. they can crack his armor sure... but what the heck is Thor gonna do with psionic energy. Mental. Energy. Reality altering energy.
Think of it this way, just a portion of the energy that was onslaught created a whole second universe.
They'll crack the shell.. but the nut inside eats them.
