You guys are all familiar with King Thor.

Thunderwing was leader of the decepticons and on normal levels, near Galvatron level. He was one of the few transformers (unlike Galvy) that could tap directly into the Matrix. Since he is inherently evil, he developed a symbiotic relationship with it...being able to directly tap into it's power. With it he was powerful enough to directly challenge unicron. It gave him the prerequisite energy blasts, regeneration (even from near death) ridiculous physical strength and size(on par to physically attack unicron.) He should also have the normal matrix abilities.

Picture him as a low level phoenix..instead of a flaming bird, he was inside of a shadowy demon.
