Can't talk about Routh .....we will have to wait until the movie comes out.
As for the X-men, we have to (as of the 24th of May) use their depictions in X-men and X-men 2, and thus not the X-men 3 coming out this Friday.
However Reeve's Superman depiction was basically Pre-Crisis Superman.
Flying faster than light, turning back time, tossing things into the sun with ease, super-intellect, etc etc etc.
Movie Superman (Reeve) wins 10/10 against Movie X-men (unless in X-men 3 they all get a hold of the Infinity Gauntlet .....which will not happen ....or unless in XM3 Jean, as the Phoenix, is given a power set directly analogous to that of the comic-book Phoenix. Which will most probably not happen ....she will be made far more powerful than her prior form in the first 2 movies, but I doubt her as the Phoenix will be at the same cosmic/universe level as in the comic books).
Anyways .....another way of writing this thread is X-men vs Pre-Crisis Superman.
X-men lose.
Badly.
