If I remember correctly, I thought Kyle was able to ensnarl Silver Surfer before Parallax and Thanos' struggle caught their attention? But in Surfer's defense, he was drained after giving most of his energy to Parallax.

More than that... Surfer can basically do anything Kyle can, but to a greater extent. Surfer's power alone is probably enough to rival Hal, who is much stronger than Kyle. Surfer would likely beat Kyle at least 9/10. Hal, more like 6/10. Surfer is damn good people, even without the speedblitz technique.
