after each fight he gains the powers of each combatant he defeats.
each fight is in their own realm.

If Surtur's Sword has been dipped in the Eternal Flame, he obliterates Demogorge.

Remember when Odin assembled Asgard�s warriors, in Thor #350, even with those that had stood against him in the past, Odin tells them that Surtur is going to try and get through into Asgard to ignite his sword Twilight in the Eternal Flame, and thereby empowering him to destroy the Universe.

maybe...but, if Demogorge has all the powers of the previous combatants in this gauntlet....it is possible to take out Surter before he has a chance to even use that sword.
