Hyperion has been identified as an Eternal and should possess the typical racial powers thereof. However, his powers are extremely similar, he has not demonstrated an ability to teleport, read minds, rearrange matter-beyond his recuperative powers, or use his life force to augment his power levels. This however may be due to his own limited understanding of the workings of his powers, as well as his focus on his physical abilities which appear far in excess of the average Eternal.
All versions of Hyperion possess vast superhuman strength, stamina, speed and durability. Each also has greatly enhanced sensory perceptions, which extends to being able to perceive the entire electro-magnetic spectrum and "atomic vision" - the equivalent of heat vision. All versions have the ability to fly at supersonic speeds. The heroic Earth-712 version of Hyperion also possesses a greatly enhanced healing factor and extended lifespan courtesy of his Eternal heritage. It's worth noting that Thanos is considerably more powerful than hyperion is, having been amped by death itself and a few other sources.
He's leaps and bounds above all other eternals as far as I can tell.
the wiki bio notes that hyperion travels at "supersonic" speeds. Surfer is so much faster it really doesn't make a difference which version it is. It'd be like quicksilver trying to fight the flash.
Not really, the speed Silver Surfer displays in combat isn't particularly impressive. Have you read any comics with Hyperion in them? He's a pretty decent Superman knock off.
Basic power level Hyperion wouldn't get any wins, but an amped King Hyperion might get a couple.
Due to the cosmic energy that suffuses an Eternal's body and the nigh-unbreakable mental hold they hold over their bodily processes, the Eternals of Earth are effectively immortal. They live for millennia, do not fatigue from physical exertion, are immune to disease and poison, and unaffected by environmental extremes of cold, heat. Most cannot be injured by conventional weaponry, and even if they are, an Eternal can rapidly regenerate any damage as long as they're able to retain their mental hold over their bodies. The only way to permanently kill an Eternal is to inflict enough damage to spread a significant portion of their body over a wide area.
In the 2006 Eternals limited series, it is stated that even this is insufficient to destroy an Eternal. As long as Earth endures and "The Machine" keeps running, any destroyed Eternal will eventually return.
All Eternals are also superhumanly strong. The limits of their strength can be increased as a result of years of focusing some of their energy towards that purpose.
This same cosmic energy can be channeled for a number of superhuman abilities. All Eternals can:
* Project damaging blasts and/or blinding flashes of energy from their eyes and hands.
* Fly (and levitate others.)
* Read minds.
* Generate illusions.
* Teleport vast distances, though doing so leaves most Eternals momentarily fatigued or dazed.
* Transmute objects, altering both their shape and composition. This ability is very taxing to most Eternals.
Some Eternals choose to focus on a particular power in order to increased their effectiveness with it.Sersi, for example, has developed the power of transmutation farther than any other Eternal. Additionally, some Eternals choose to focus their cosmic energies into other, non-standard abilities. Ikaris, for example, channels cosmic energy to greatly enhance his senses, while the Interloper uses his to generate fear in others, and Makkari uses his cosmic energies for superspeed.
