One thing I remember reading is that Thor lost to Superman because he held back, as he didn't have a good measure of Superman's power. Presumably Thor didn't want to risk accidentally killing him. HR Thor, however, was much more Viking-like than the 616 Thor and wasn't a big, politically correct wuss. He had the killer instinct and obviously wouldn't hold back at all. Could this Thor beat Superman?
Edit: Super-speed and hammer-stealing are deactivated for this match, of course.

He took away super speed... although that would likely happen in a comic (at least, it would in the sense that it wouldn't be the KMC blitz at the first millisecond).
I don't actually think Superman wins at all. I don't think anyone can take Thor in basically raw power (which this match is) in the herald level. It's differences that allow him very beatable, but in this style of matchup, he could probably run through anyone (yes, Surfer included) in those brackets. Especially not people like Apocalypse, because Apoc sucks.
Of course though, there's exceptions.

How do you know I wasn't joking when I agreed with you the first time? I mean, if you said Superman wins but were joking...and I said I agreed with you, then clearly I was joking too, right?

I read the entire Onslaught saga, including everything tied into it...and much later, Onslaught Reborn - steaming pile of crap that it was. But only like the first four issues introducing Heroes Reborn, so really didn't know what to make of this version of Thor stated.
*shrug*
I have no qualms believing that, given the OP stipulations, he'd win though.
The claim has often been made that Superman is stronger than Thor. Many times on versus forums threads this claim is accepted as a given by both sides of the debate. I don’t concede that the Man of Steel is physically stronger than the god of thunder though. Thor has performed feats such as lifting the World Serpent, and once hurled the Odinsword, an enormous mystical blade, through a Celestial!_ Thor has also single-handedly matched the strength of the Hulk on numerous occasions (the Marvel Universe’s strongest character). Not only that but Thor is capable of entering into a state known as the “Warrior’s Madness”, which will temporarily increase his strength tenfold. Some of these feats have no true equivalent in the DC universe. We think at the very least, the two character’s physical strength is equal.

You used the exact same quote in the Superman-Thor full potential battle. Cutting and pasting this around?
I don't know enough about HR Thor; but isn't it true his hammer has no restrictions on who can lift it? That's an advantage Thor would miss here.
