While it could be argued (imo) that they have comparable strength levels, DD has far superior durability from what we've seen...

They definately have compareable strengh, in fact it could be argued that Despero has the edge there since he faced a superior Gauntlet of hero's!

Yea Durability edge to DD but it's not like Despero is a chump there either...

He was going to use his tech to help him but DD woke up before he could start the process & broke out of containment, then Braniac simple used his OWN POWER to take control...

actually yeah, sorry. got mixed up with something else...

since then, though, even a weaker doomsday has been able to effortlessly keep out martian manhunter. not sure if despero could take over...

and brainiac did admit that his control was temporary at best...
