No that's a wash because she'd die too. Also solar flares normally aren't powerful enough to reach Earth. Storm certainly couldn't make one powerful enough.

I thought Storm has already survived in space?

Its in her powerset to destroy Earth with earthquakes, hurricanes etc. And when the fight goes to the space... Solar flares!

I suggest you read up on Solar Flares. And to my knowledge no she can't survive in space, at least she shouldn't. And no she couldn't destroy the Earth, she's not that powerful.
