Re: Last Planet Standing Galactus vs Soulfire Darkseid
Not sure why those scans were chosen, as they don't really show LPS Galactus feats. They're just scans of the cosmic powers combined attack, which would've taken Big G out, being intercepted by Reeds anti Galactus gun. The fact the cosmic powers combined their efforts is less a testiment to Big G's powers, and more of an equivilent of the major powers dropping a tactical nuke to take out a critical target, to make damned sure he doesn't survive/escape and enact a plan they felt would threaten the universe.
'Soulfire' Darkseid seems to come up a few times recently but I'm unfamiliar. What's his deal?
Character Inhibited Power. I.e. when a character holds back on purpose until they know their foe can take it, or they're afraid of causing collateral damage, or similar.
But LT doesn't interfere based on power, he interferes based on a perceived threat to the multiverse. Think of when he intervened against The Starbrand, which isn't really in the obscenely powerful category.
In the case of Last Planet Standing, Galactus's plan to alter his base nature was dangerous to his universe, and LT felt it could even affect other universes, so the cosmic powers launched the mother of all tactical nukes.
Yea. *So far* he'd eaten a galaxy, the Odinsword, Odinpower Thor, and Asgard, and the Shi'ar homeworld as part of his power up into some grand evolution.
We never saw what the end result would've been if he ate the universe, but at the end he was still more advanced than 616 Galactus, getting to the point where he was steady-state and could be at full power without eating worlds (also merged with Surfer).
