basically at their most powerful states this becomes a stalemate or Mordru takes phoenix power over time growing more powerful until he can encompass it entirely.

At average I give a very very very slight edge to phoenix but I'd really say this is a crapshoot on who wins.

Not sure about that. Mordru did absorb most of Infinte Man, who is in Phoenix's league, IMO. And it wasn't all that hard. If Mordru can absorb the Phoenix, he wins.
