Let's put it this way. Ethan Edwards, by himself, took on the FF and almost cured/killed Thing, did that "Hulk rubber-band snapping thing" to Reed, and blew out the Torch. Before the fight continued, his father stepped in and Ethan flew off.

His next fight was vs the New Avengers : Wolverine, Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America, Luke Cage, and Spiderwoman. They couldn't hurt him at all and he was mopping the floor with them. And this was noob Ethan.

The Revengers stomp, Ethan could possibly get a majority wins vs Team 1 by himself.

Secret Avengers don't have a chance, even if they're not off guard like "New Avengers". There no answer to Ethan and Simon.

Captain Ultra is actually pretty cool. He has a crapload of powers : flight, x-ray vision, super strength, intangibility, etc...

I believe Bendis had Simon barely struggle with Carol to show that he wasn't really going all out against her due to their realtionship. Besides, the panel of her plummeting to the floor should clearly represent what he is capable of against her.
