Sand would wreck him. He could instantly disappear miles into the earth (or turn himself into a sandstorm, or just reform around each of Gorgon's attacks) and use his earth control to attack Gorgon from all fronts. Hit him with quick concentrated earthquakes, like the kind that took out Grundy, and just destroy his footing. It would take a while, but there's little that Gorgon could do in return.
