I forget the full context, but doesn't he have the reality gem for most of that fight?

Still, that's a whuppin. Doom's showings are all over the board. He also wrecked Surfer more than once, unamped and pre-mage.

Yeah. But, when he's on, he's really on.

Agreed. Sometimes you just have to lose to Doom. It's like a right of passage in comics.

During that era, I will say that Warlock's showings are unequivocally consistently higher than Doom's. But it's hard to argue with that butt-whuppin. The 2nd of the two there was almost certainly with the gem, though, so that's not to be counted. Warlock also went head-to-head with everyone beneath Thanos and consistently mopped them. His winning percentage against mid-to-high heralds was scary, including Surfer and something like 3 wins over Quasar.

That's all in order, I just seperated it in a weird way.

And Thanos had the Reality Gem that whole arc

Doom was using a weapon that was not standard, hence the power pack and gun. I am even positive that is not his tech since Kang only went to Doom for the Information he possessed in his timeline about the gems that didnt make it to his future.

Doom put up with Kang for his tech to get to within arms reach to the gems..

miffed

Then what's that King of All Reality comment he makes to Kang? And the weird constantly glowing right hand?

Also, Thanos had the reality gem? This looks like Infinity War, if memory serves, not Infinity Gauntlet. In the one scan there, Magus seems to have the entire gauntlet.

Only Warlock and Thanos knew about the Reality Gem, which I'll get to later, and by later I mean like 6 words.
Uh dunno. That's his Doom hand.

Thanos and Warlock hid the Reality Gem away from Magus.
Ya, Magus thought he had the full Gauntlet. It was a fake Reality Gem though.

Yeah. It was a fake.
I think the point here, is that Doom had "Prep" on his side.

Prep-
Prep can be quantified as an actual power when looking at comic book fights, because some characters don't use/have ANY of it. Some characters are ALL about the prep.
Some are able to use prep to defeat street-levelers and some characters, like Doom, are able to take down Abstracts and above with the quality of their prep.
Doom, on the attack, is a scary thing.
It's like having an armored, super-strong (due to the armor), magic-wielding, heartless Reed Richards after you.
Whether Doom is holding a weapon, has the weapon built into his armor, or is using his mystic arts, it should all be considered "Doom".

As I have seen other people write, usually, the person that ends up defeating Dr. Doom, is Doom, through character flaws.

that is just Doom monologing. he wasnt the King of all reality, he was just really close to the gauntlet which by the way did not work at all.. the gems had shut down and Magus was waiting for Eternity and Living Tribunal ruling to activate them..

and ppl are right, Thanos used his chair to replicate a fake reality gem, Magus never had it but, was too drunk with power to notice it which helped them to overcome Magus at the end..

Yeah, Warlock's "Holy Mystic Warrior" aura-thing seems to be pretty powerful.
He pulls a lot of wins.

A Dr. Doom that sees a therapist and takes some meds would probably rule the universe.
