Classic definetly wins, and current version this becomes much closer
Also what about it? He doesn't have prep.
John Byrne: "If you want to sum it up . . . he's Dr. Strange--but he does it with potions and herbs and little dolls and stuff, instead of just doing it with the power of his mind, the way Strange does. This possibly gives Shaman a slight advantage, I don't know. If he had the tools at hand, he can make just about anything. I don't know if Strange that kind of power has over the physical world."
No, he has all these tools he just has to figure out which one to use
Powerful item used on Ranaq “and just for a single wretching moment the universe itself seems to blink out of existence, like a soap bubble suddenly impaled on a thorn." http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c...Flight18-21.jpg
In the final issue of volume 3, Sasquatch uses Nemesis's sword to send him into the past. He sees Yukon Jack who prior was sent back in time with her sword as well. He just finished killing Omega Flight [scans shown earlier] and Alpha Flight has just arrived. Shaman is then approached by Sasquatch and with his powers freezes time. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d...ht/scan0014.jpg
etc.
I feel classic Strange was just more powerful and far more experienced.

Dr strange but shama will put up a good fight. Anyway, was Shaman ever included in the potential candidates for Ss? It strikes me odd that he didnt at least had a bigger part in Marvel's bigger scope for all events concerning magic.
Yeah all of Alpha Flight is often over-looked. However, I don't think he can be in the running same with Talisman. As the "Talisman" and "Shaman" are their own titles and have their own duties
