WHY has Marvel Taken away Ares Powers

I remember when Ares first debuted back in the days he had more powers than he don now.
Apart from physical powers Ares ad teleportation, Energy projection, some form of possessing other peeople body and walking among mortal unseen. He even display enery projection in his fight against Ikras when olympus invaded the eternal home
