Ymir's power levels rival that of Odin and Surtur whereas Malekith is debatable to even be on par with Loki.
Completely different scales of power here.

He's an ancient elemental being that has access to ice related magic, regeneration and vast physical might, yes.
Malekith stands no chance here, at all.
