Team 1 rather easily.

Neron, Ares and Eclipso should be more than enough.

Marvel should really up their demons/mystics.

Ymir is cool though

How powerful is Neron?

I know Eclipso is a Spectre level opponent (but that guy fluctuates wildly in power level).

And Ares was a skyfather level being?

Well Ymir is a skyfather level being. Mephisto has done some impressive stuff both in and out of his realm and Satannish is all but Mephisto's equal power wise (battling him to a stalemate a couple of times).

I think this fight is a lot closer than most people realize. Having said that, Loki, Blackheart, and Zadkiel don't seem to be in the same league as the rest of these guys.

Here's a respect thread

http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f98/t491966.html

Neron managed to hurt, trick and then split the Spectre from Corrigan.
He actually bfred Spectre and had his event in the DCU (Underworld Unleashed).
He lost via plot device of course.

He created (for fun) an avatar that moved the Moon, and was gonna crush it to Earth.
All that while relaxing and having fun.

He beat Mongul to death via punching and soul absorbing, just for the fun of it and to make a point to all the supervillains he gathered (and then granted crazy powerups). In the same event he appeared to places far away from earth and offered deals (I think he was also in Apokolips and some place in the DCU where Legion was taking place at the time)

He recreated a destroyed city in seconds (or he turned back time I don't remember)

He also tossed around Asmodel and humiliated Satanus and Blaze.
He killed WW and now that I think of it he hasn't lost in a straight fight (maybe Spectre in DoJ, but hey it's Spectre).

And he pulled a One More Day in Flash more than a decade before the actual OMD.

Neron is well above Meph mainly because he doesn't have low feats like Surfer doing good in his dimension or the Black Panther stuff.

Also Ares was a skyfather as you said in DCU.
And Eclipso in his last appearance managed to kill the Spectre and split the Moon in half.

Add Asmodel and even Satanus and it's overkill.
Ymir might be some trouble but Mephisto got nothing on Neron and Ares.
And Satanish I believe is weaker than Mephisto.

A few points :
a) Satannish is NOT weaker than Mephisto. The two of them have fought to a stalemate on multiple occasions.
b) Surfer "doing good" against Mephisto is a scam on Mephisto's part. Mephisto doesn't want him dead, he wants to corrupt his soul so he can claim it. When Mephisto gets serious, even OUTSIDE his realm, he can one shot Surfer (and this has happened on panel).
c) Mephisto also has impressive fights and feats to his name. He's fought Galactus to a stalemate till Galactus changed tactics, he's had numerous "reality" wrecking/threatening fights, he's tooled the Avengers/Fantastic Four/X-Men/Defenders, etc.. So going by that I wouldn't say Neron is "well above" Mephisto, if at all.
d) What Black Panther stuff?

Satannish might no be weaker but he is not above Meph.
I think he is refferenced in the handbooks as "being close" to Mephisto in power or smthing.

I believe his fight with Galactus was in his own realm though. And he was loosing that fight if I'm correct when Galactus started absorbing his realm.

The BP stuff I think was written by Priest, and BP kinda beat up Meph if I remember correctly.

Also didn't Thor do well in Mephisto's realm? And Odin beat him without the Odinforce or smthing again in Mephisto's realm?

A) notice, nowhere did I say Satannish was more powerful than Mephisto. And Handbook entries don't mean anything if on panel evidence contradicts it. Satannish fought Mephisto to a standstill on multiple occasions.

B) Yes, his fight with Galactus was in his own realm. And he wasn't losing at all, it was Galactus that broke off from engaging Mephisto and trying another avenue of attack.

Hell Lords are less powerful outside their realm. But even then, he's one shotted a high herald (Silver Surfer) while laughing at his attacks, beat down the Defenders in a laugh (they had to be freed by Marduk Kurios), performed that OMD feat, and more crap that's not coming to mind right now. And this stuff was down outside his realm.

C) I need to know the context behind that incident, because Mephisto fakes loses to get what he wants. It's been stated on panel to, examples include : against Hela (for the soul of Thor) and against the Surfer.

D) Again, he doesn't want to kill Thor, he wants to corrupt his soul. If Mephisto didn't care for any of that, Thor would be a yellow and red smear.

A) Either way Satannish is kinda equal to Meph at best.

B) I believe that Meph would loose when Galactus started absorbing his realm. He couldn't defend against it.

C) Can't help you with the BP stuff, but I remember some scans going around with BP stabbing Meph to the chest and then Meph kinda ran with his tail between his legs.

D) I'll take your word for it. Because Meph seems to "not want to fight" a lot.
Is there a mention in all of those fights Meph "didn't loose" that he wasn't truly fighting? Is there mention in every fight or is it speculation?

A) that was kinda my whole point wink
B) yes, he lost because he didn't know how to counter Galactus consuming his realm. Prior to that, he was doing just fine vs Galactus
C) Again, we need context
D) Don't take my word for it, here's Mephisto's respect thread :

On the Galactus incident: My point is he would loose. If he couldn't stop Galactus, then doesn't that grant G the win? Especially since it took place in Meph's own realm?

I saw the respect thread. Good stuff.
But I have a question. In the Surfer scan it says he could have crushed SS. That's fine he doesn't do it cause he wants the souls.

But does this apply to every fight? Or is this refferenced only in this issue and this fight?

A) regarding the Galactus/Mephisto incident, yes he stated he would lose because he didn't know how to counter Galactus eating his realm. Prior to that, Mephisto was doing fine. It was Galactus that disengaged and tried a new tactic to gain the advantage.
B) Yes, he throws fights a lot, it's in the respect thread. One is where he's fighting the Defenders. Then there's the Hela scan (also in the respect thread), where he threw the fight to fxxk over Hela and he laughed at her stupidity.

Mephisto is very underrated. He's not Set level but he's not garbage either.

a) Yeah that's what I'm saying. He would ultimately loose. Not that standing up to Galactus is small feat or anything.

b) Thx, good to know.

I'd say he is the best of team 2 along with Ymir, but I'd still give this to team 1.

Y U ignoring Satannish? stick out tongue He's easily Mephisto's equal. But yeah Team Two's big guns are Mephisto/Satannish/Ymir. I don't know what the heck Loki, Zadkiel, and Blackheart are doing here though.

Team One probably does win the majority but it's not Meph/Nish/Ymir's fault.

I agree.
And if anything, those are the heavy hitters of team 2.

@Comicfan and zopzop:

If this is the incident you both are referring to, Mephisto was cut off from Hades by Wakandan tech, which resulted in him being depowered and the Panther cut out Mephisto's heart to bind him to Earth.
http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/...sto_2_super.jpg
In that same story arc, Mephisto later lured BP to hell, and forced him to relinquish his soul as part of a deal for freeing Wakanda. However, the pure, noble souls(these have negatively affected Mephisto in the past) of all other BPs throughout history get transferred along with Tchalla as well, momentarily overwhelming Mephisto. I am guessing that nobody on team 2 has specialized hax magitech that can disconnect and depower Mephisto from hell.

Here's the full synopsis of that story arc:
http://www.griffenaerie.com/blackpa...lord/index.html
