DCU is still "new". They're just now having villains organize with one another in an attempt to outmaneuver the heroes and pit them against one another. The heroes in general are still learning how to work with one another and the implicit trust isn't there, either.
I see Reed and Strange acting as leaders, trying to learn about this new universe and attempting to keep the others from doing anything rash (which, tbh, the only one who would probably jump the gun would be Thor). Eventually, the League would try to recruit them or at least learn to respect and understand them as fellow heroes and there'd be the classic "misunderstandings" you'd expect.
