Seems pointless to merge Superman and Surfer. Surfer already have Superman attributes. As for the thread...Scott solos and doesnt need the merge to win.

I always imagined their powers would compound ("synergy"), and the result would have exceptional h2h combat speed, plus the presence of mind to use powers creatively, and, no more board to fall off of.
