IIRC the only magical thing that can harm Jarred is his own knife ( as was used by Mordru to kill him). Since it's controlled my his mind that should be pretty darn hard to do.
However, Constantine has access to that kind of weaponry as well. The Moonblade, for example, can kill just about anything-- a massively amped Mr. E notwithstanding: http://imgur.com/e01JnNA http://imgur.com/iGOEB2Z
So yeah.
Granted there is a possibility for John to get ahold of Jared's own dagger and stab him with it(like Mordru did)-- but since we don't know that particulars behind exactly how Mordru did this, it certainly isn't a surefire tactic for John.

Well, bit of a tangent as DCnU hasn't shown it explicitly - but preboot John had this thing going which was pretty mucha deus ex machina power. So if he needs a certain item to win a battle, for example, he would have it. Or he would usually be in the right place at the right time, that kinda thing.
So, if it isn't negated by Fate here, in this battle, then as a deus ex power, John would win. Whether it be having his Webley revolver with him, or managing to throw that lucky punch, that kinda thing.
Agreed. The first few issues preboot didn't spell it out explicitly, did they? Only later was it developed and used as a reason why he was so damn lucky.
Current DCnU John seems more prepped than lucky, though. What with his strategy room in the House of Mystery etc.
Yeah, it probably wasn't something writers felt the need to state right off the bat... But after THAT many issues of John coming out on top no matter what the odds, they had to give said haxxness some type of explanation, lol.
True, but his preparation is SO ridiculous that it borders on mystical itself-- so it really wouldn't surprise me if the same type of explanation was given as to how DCnU John always seems to overcome the odds... A 'Lucky Charm', if you will.
Although I do wonder how something like a 'Turnabout Charm' would affect Fate..?: http://imgur.com/oCN8odG http://imgur.com/fPrc3Ug
So if Jared stabbed John with his dagger while a Turnabout Charm was active, it would essentially be like stabbing himself with his dagger as well-- which can(and has) killed Jared in the past... Or would he simply be immune to the Turnabout's effects? It was powerful enough to scare-off Papa Midnite, after all. /shrug
TEH PHARADHOXEZ!!!!
