The emotional spectrum is an energy alien to Vulcan or Magneto, and would take time for ethier to tune in before they can start manipulating.

As is Hal n Kyle walk with overweling firepower, greater than what muties can muster. Team dynamics benifit the Ring Slingers, especially if its White Lantern Kyle. Going Blue would mutually amp both.
