Marvel is clearly trying to portray iron fist as the Marvel version of karate kid. The thing is many people remember iron fist as the average street with a powerful attack. however marvel have taken him to new levels and its hard for people to get used to it. however the things are what they are and at this point iron fist is clearly at Mid Meta levels when he use his chi at current levels.
