Question about so called "blitzing."
In the case of fast heralds and even speedsters, what is the comic book explanation as to why they don't always use their super speed to dominate their opponents, end threats quickly and eliminate crime? Logically, they should use their superspeed. Even during fights, it's makes no sent to use super speed attacks for a few seconds and let up. We know why they aren't written to do so as there really wouldn't be much of a story to tell or a visual for the reader. But what is the comic book explanation? Is there one? "Attacking in a nanosecond" sounds great, happens less that 1% of the time.

No explanations given, it's just for the story.

The only real explanation that I've seen offered - the speed does damage to the area and endangers civilians (obviously only applies to a hero). This one's been used in Superman and Flash books as I recall.
Others are character reasons.
- Pride, Example of this would be Black Adam. Hugely proud of himself and basically wants to show others how "insignificant" they are to him. He really should dodge most of those he has fought (except Jay, and cap Marvel Obviously). But instead he just tanks it to demonstrate that they aren't even worth dodging. To show his superiority.

You get a different answer from each writer.
Its often 'storytelling trumps consistency' but it often seems like writers disagree with charactera being 'that fast' or 'that strong'

Could be a simple stamina thing... Going faster wears them out quicker

Has a lot to do with Stamina. Black Adam and Jay race running together is a Prime example of this. His legs gave out.

Okay guys, but the have super stamina, plus it's never been stated as fact to my knowledge. It also would fly in the face of any stamina feat. Carver, you mentioned a "prime" example, but that's more like a one time or rare occurrence. Most of the time superspeed is used it does show to be taxing.
