jay. ns could be faster on avg, maybe, unless we dig some for jay whose highs are better than ns, but jay is simply too smart and has too many tricks. plus speed steal if needed. /shrug
Not asking what his 'potential' speed is. I am asking what speed he's actually capped at most of the time.
I ask because Jay's speed has been capped just below light speed in some of his more recent [pre-Flashpoint] appearances, as his body simply begins giving out due to old age... Not that raw speed is his only option, mind you, I am just curious about Northstar, is all.

it's just shy of light speed but i think he's reached it before. jay didn't hit c too often in his later appearances, but he was certainly capable of it if needed and he exceeded it a couple times too. it would be a pretty even fight, but like i said, jay is just smarter, more experienced and has too many tricks to fall back on. and please man, i'm begging you, do me the courtesy of kindly NOT quoting carv. i just can't handle it. lol
Speed steal jay doesnt like using it and has stated he thinks it's cheating but he does use it as frequently as Wally in fact if you consider how often he used it to amp Bart more so.
So he wont steal the speed to use but would to hamper.
Speed wise they are pretty much peers. Both can go just faster than light when needed but dont. NS due to durability, Jay due to his age and heart condition so cant stay that speed for long.
Jay uses wind vortexes etc more than any other flash in solo stories excpet MAYBE Barry who at best would use them as often. This gives him a ranged attack to match NS
Jay also uses vibration to pass thru things which if anything would be what gives him the slight edge.
Jay also has the MOST scientific approach to speed of anyone. He was afterall the one who had to dumb down and explain Zooms time shift to the rest of the flash family.
I'd say a slight nod to Jay but can see NS taking it underncertain conditions
