Flash, while in speed mode has tanked some serious blows from some very powerful enemies. It makes sense to. If Wally was to touch something while in superspeed mode then he would explode like this baseball (below) traveling mach 1 and hitting a wall. Therefore, he has to be durable enough to punch and hit objects traveling at high speeds.
