Not sure how he caught BA off-guard; for the initial punch, sure, but after that? BA knew he was in a fight. Brutus even comments that BA was packing serious levels of power.

As for Aquaman, he even said uh-oh BEFORE Brutus used his blasts. So he knew he was in trouble.

Really, carver, try and read the comics.

In fairness though he did overpower him for quite a bit. Maybe it's part getting him by surprise and dragging him under water, but pretty ok showing for AQ there.

Im not even sure the initial punch caught BA off-guard. I mean Brutus basically saying he looking for trouble before throwing his first punch. And BA isnt stupid.
