Gottos (FF2) vs. Hafedd (FE9)
Setting: Indigo Plateau (Super Mario Smash Bros.)
Personally, I say Hafedd, since his armor has about the strength of FF2's KA (Knight's Armor) or stronger than that. Also, he can throw his weapon whereas Gottos cannot. And if we assumed the Flame Lances were the same in either game, then Hafedd definitely has the advantage, his Knight Ward giving extra physical and magical defense.
His S-level in lances would grant him the right to wield lances as powerful as the Wyvern Lance (FF2's best lance and it appears only in the Soul of Rebirth), its FE9 counterpart being the Wishblade. FE's Flame Lance is B-level.
