Obi-wan was 'Ok, I need to take this guy really really serious or I could lose' when fighting him just a few years after RotS.

He was out of practice and had an environmental disadvantage, and he still beat Hett convincingly. Ventress has provided similar or better challenges to a prime Kenobi on even ground.
