Ehhh, even then his strength in the force was able to conceal itself from a lord of Plagueis' caliber instinctively. It could probably defend him from a master of Luke's caliber instinctively too. smile

DE Luke beat Palpatine fair and square in the Eclipse. Luke was not ampd by Leia or anything like that when they dueled. It was only after Palpatine used Force Storm did Luke and Leia begin to use Force Harmony.

I'd assume hed be able to amplify his speeds with a greater resevoir of DS energy not to mention to Luke the DS was more poisonous than powerful of aid to him
