Respek Hawkeye Dammit!

The guy has no powers at all (not even super-soldier serum) he isn't a billionaire, doesn't hide behind a suit of armour, no fancy all powerful ring/bracelet/hammer, isn't in any way enhanced by adamantium and doesn't wear a cape...... but he has always been able to hang with almost anyone in the MU

he went into a situation with the Avengers AND the Thunderbolts (when Moonstone was uber-powered) and quite confidently stated he came preppared to take down ANYONE on either team who got in his way..... then he backed it up

give the man some damn RESPEK

That's pretty good, but it'd be more impressive to see him THROW a toothpick into the pin slot of a thrown grenade. Because, while he is amazingly accurate, it's still a weapon created for ranged combat. If you've shot a bow, you can gauge where it's going a lot better than a thrown object.

Respek granted.

Sheesh...didn't know he was that good. I don't even think Batman can say he's ever been prepped to take that many people down all at once.

He is good and has gotten better over time (I even have his first limited series which was sad, but did develop the character some). I remember in the Avengers when he was a fresh member. He was usually one of the first to go down. It could be that the pencilers got tired of drawing him, but who knows. I like him and am glad that he has found the confidence he was lacking as an earlier character.

Hawkeye was originally patterned after GA, of course, with the whole bow and arrow motif, but after awhile, one notices that GA starts to adopt the loud mouthed, cranky, annoying, liberal bastard motif that Hawkeye started out with. They've both ripped off each other, interestingly.

Hawkeye does indeed rock.

Hawkeye is my second favorite Avenger...he's cool.

Read the GA origin story, he's been liberal for a long time, just more prominent in later writers.

It's not just GA's liberalness, but his cranky, loud mouthed attitude, which Hawkeye was much more prominent with originally.
