Black Adam or Teth Adam as he was called then, was born in ancient Egypt. He was given great powers by the Wizard Shazam. Those power included:

Shu - stamina
Heru - swiftness
Amon - strength
Zehuti - wisdom
Aton - power
Mehen - courage

Black Adam vs Captain Marvel 3. The Wizard Shazam gives some of his power to the Marvel Family, so Captain Marvel wouldn't be underpowered. However, Captain Marvel has an arm injury as a result of his previous clash with Black Adam. Black Adam also fights the Marvel Family.
