The Surfer's Board

The Silver Surfer's board has been depicted with countless variations to the basic shape. Sometimes it's an enlongated oval, sometimes it has straight sides which taper, sometimes not. Sometimes the back end is straight across and/or the front end is pointy. Sometimes the board looks huge, sometimes it seems short (about the Surfer's height) and slender. Sometimes there's a fin, sometimes there are no lines. On and on and on...

I was just curious as to what people generally thought looked best, or what they think would look best if it hasn't been done.

I personally prefer a slimmer more aerodynamic look.

I prefer a small thin enlongated oval shaped board that is more maneuverable, with no fin.

Similar to the one in Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

I prefer one that he doesn't fall off!
no expression.

umm, aesthetically I think the long (thin) surfboard with the fin design is better looking.

I like the more simplistic design, especially the one where it looks like the board is a part of him, and it's hard to tell where his body ends and the board begins

I think the design of Ultimate Surfer's board looks the best, both esthetically, and functionally:

Yea, it looks to much like a beginners surf board (long boards).

The best Surfers use the more aerodynamic short boards. big grin

I tend to prefer the sleeker, smaller board, as in FF2. Other examples:

- In Thy Name
http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/...ThyName2022.jpg
This is the narrowest I've ever seen. I like how the perimeter is done.

- and this one...

It's plain, basic, almost looks variable-geometry throughout the issue.

Scans from Surfer's Respect Thread. Kudos to the original posters.

Next panel after above:
Human Torch in the background yells, "Heads up!"
Surfer turns...Spidey goes a-tumblin'.
