Introduction:
The Great Beasts are a group of powerful creatures from another dimension who have tried several times to take over Earth. Their in fact older than the Earth, and became the embodiments of death on Earth when it was first commencing to come alive. They were trapped a thousand years ago in their own dimension by the Northern Gods but the magicks holding them weakened and have once again been entering Earth’s reality. Their powers have yet to be fully revealed.

Alpha Flight #64 [Vol.1]: Northern Gods
Walter tries to prove his is himself in court, and get his money back as everyone believes he is dead. Walter is currently Wanda, but then submits to a scan by a machine he himself devised, which shows him to be an amalgam of male human with female immortal, and a polygraph test, under which he tells his whole story. The judge is told by Canadian National Security not to award the fortune to Walter, since the government doesn't want Alpha Flight to be independently funded. Walter has an attack in court. The gods and great beasts burst out from him and battle. He is forced to aid the gods as Sasquatch and drives the beasts away. He rejects the gods, too, and his money, which goes to Veronica. This might have been an illusion from Dreamqueen though

Wolverine #165 & 172 [Vol.1]:
Mauvais is a character that Dr.Strange even admitted he was unsure he could beat (“the reemergence of evil, Wong. One that has not seen the light of the sun for centuries—one that I am not certain even I can stop” ). Mauvais hundreds of years ago even clashed with the Ancient One (1789). Mauvais is mad crazy and wants to get revenge against the Gods of the Artic since they have ruined his plans multiple times. So he creates a barrier blocking the gods from this world using the bodies he killed from a tv show [Survivor up North]. The North Gods are the same people as Snowbird, so cutting them off from her will weaken here. After being freed when the barrier was destroyed Nelvanna easily beats him, and the Gods of the Arctic are said to be equal with the Great Beasts. Mauvais upon entering the Realm of the Beasts and discovering it's occupants was terrified.

Here Somon tricks Alpha Flight into thinking he is frail and weak and is on the verge of death. He played possum in order to steal the souls of Talisman, Northstar and Aurora and then faked his death. It was most likely an avatar he created as he has complete control over this realm. Walter is their gateway to the our realm, so he allowed Alpha Flight to take Walter’s soul back to the real world as Somon later forces him to open up a gateway allowing the Beasts to enter our realm. Here Heather Hudson finally gives into Tanaraq and lets him take control. Her powers are augemted on a great scale, Tanaraq takes out a super-powered Morbius, takes a full blast from Zarathos, destroys him, and takes out Kulan Gath who is on Dr.Strange's level and who doesn't even feel pain anymore all without little effort. True badass. Gath used his spell to unleash their inner-bad, and their power was twisted and augmented by one’s connection to the supernatural that's why instead of Heather transforming into Sasquatch, Tanaraq was freed

Tanaraq takes full control of the team and beats most of them will not even trying and later blackmails them to do his biding. He wants the Exiles to go across this relality and asks all the evil genius to help him locate the Timebroker. While the others go do what Tanaraq asks, Beak goes to Canada to locate Shaman for help. Shaman already knew he was coming due to a unlikely source told him prior. So Shaman and Exiles start their plan to rescue Heather from Tanaraq. Here Tanaraq easily manhandles Namora who is class 100, knocks out Doom with one blow, rips Morph in half

Walter is having a identity crisis and the Great Beasts are going to use that to their advantage. Not in they’re full power, but still powerful enough. Anyways none of the Great Beasts die, just sent back to their dimension. Jeffries absorbs an entire complex into his armor and sets of a nuclear blast by destroying part of his mass. Once again Tundra is “defeated” in a way, which was said you can’t do way back in Alpha Flight #1 or you would shatter Canada.

X-Man #39-40 [Vol.1]: X-Man
Nate has a tantrum over seeing the future where he destroys half of Earth. Oddly this tauntrum opens the Realm of the Beasts, and out comes Kolomaq (who wasn’t even in the Realm), Somon and Tundra. Here this basically ignores everything showed earlier about Tundra, him growing with each move hundreds of feet tall, he does not feed off of energy, energy attacks as shown in the above scans nearly ripped Canada apart and Snowbird warned against it. Yet, twice he does it here..and nothing. At least he nearly died doing this impossible feat and needed to be saved.

Mike Oeming has already stated in an interview they are indeed going to get exposure. Not sure if they will due to the switch to being a mini, but they are expected to make a return shortly.

Omega Flight #3 of 5: Tanaraq Apperance
Tanaraq will make his return to 616 comics in Omega Flight #3, when the Wrecking Crew brought by an unknown force enters the Realm of the Beasts only to find an imprisoned Tanaraq. Interesting to note Tanaraq is the size of a building here, which concides with Omega Flight #2 as Beta Ray Bill had a vision of Tanaraq the size of a city.
